The Venous Institute of Buffalo
Vein Treatment Clinical Information - Spider Veins
Spider veins are very similar to varicose veins. While varicose veins occur in the superficial veins, spider veins actually occur in the capillaries and are much smaller.
As their name suggests, they usually appear in a pattern similar to a spider web. They are most common on the face and legs, and can be red or blue in color.
Spider veins are not usually a serious health concern, but cosmetically, their appearance is a concern for many patients.
However, because spider veins can be an indication of a more serious vein disease problem, a thorough evaluation by a medical professional is advised.
Spider Vein Treatment
There are several options for the treatment of spider veins. After a thorough evaluation, the vein treatment experts at The Venous Institute of Buffalo will guide you through treatment options such as Laser Treatments and/or Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy.
