Dr. Vasquez Awarded Research-In-Practice Grant
by the American College of Phlebology
The American College of Phlebology recently awarded the 2009 Research-In-Practice Grant to Dr. Michael Vasquez of the Venous Institute of Buffalo. The Research-In-Practice Grant is designed to assist clinical phlebologists in initiating a clinical research project of importance to the field of phlebology. The long-term intent of this program is to foster the research education and development of clinical phlebologists who are capable of active participation in and/or leadership of clinical trials of phlebological therapies.
This grant provides funding for one year for a project focusing on the development and advancement of topics in phlebology.
Through funding provided by the Research-In-Practice Grant, Dr. Vasquez will conduct a trial to validate quality of life and venous severity scoringassessment instruments for their usefulness in patients undergoing treatment for venous disease.
