Dr. Vasquez featured on WGRZ for a special report on deep vein thrombosis (DVT)

Deep Vein Thrombosis is a medical condition where blood clots form in the deep veins of a person's legs. NBC News reporter David Bloom died of DVT in 2003, after complaining of pressure behing his knees.

Dr. Michael Vasquez of DeGraff Hospital says DVT is very common.

Dr. Vasquez says, "People that have DVT usually have some type of discomfort."

People who travel for long periods of time are possible candidates for the condition. People who've had major surgery or injury to thier legs are also at risk. David Bloom complained of pressure behind his knees just days before he died.
