Center of Research and Education

Clinical research remains a major interest of the Venous Institute of Buffalo. Properly conducted research adds to our knowledge base and ultimately improves patient care. We have a full-time research coordinator for patients who are interested.

Most recently we participated in a bilateral leg vein study comparing endovenous ablation using radiofrequency catheter to endovenous ablation using Varithena. Results will be released as they become available.
The Care of Patients With Varicose Veins and Associated Chronic Venous Diseases:
Clinical Practice Guidelines of the Society for Vascular Surgery and the American Venous Forum ( J Vasc Surg 2011;53:2S-48S). Because of his work on Revised VCSS, Dr. Vasquez was an invited contributor and co-author of this vital document. The GUIDELINES provide for all vein care practitioners the standard to which they should strive.
